Gwen Stefani Says Blake Shelton 'Saved My Life'

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani met each other at a difficult time in life as they were both recently divorced. In a recent interview Stefani says her relationship with Shelton actually saved her life.

"Blake saved my life, everybody knows that," she shared with Entertainment Tonight. "Like, we're just having the time of our lives, and we never expected that this late in our lives, so we're just trying to savor every moment together."

Shelton and Stefani met when she joined The Voice as a coach in 2015. At the time, Shelton had just gone through a divorce with Miranda Lambert while Stefani has also just ended her marriage with Gavin Rossdale.

"I don't want to remember what I was like before Gwen, actually," Shelton says. "I'm a little bit of [a] jerk to you still," he jokes about his fellow Voice coach, Kelly Clarkson. "But I was a jerk to everybody... Look how nice I am now!"

The country singer credits Stefani for his spiritual growth over the last four years. He says his relationships with Stefani has helped him regain his faith in love and in God.

"I believe in God now more than I ever have in my life," Shelton told The Tennessean. "The biggest part of that is just how [Stefani] came into my life and now our relationship. It's just too weird. If you take God out of it, it doesn't make sense. If you put God into it, everything that's happened with us makes sense."

Just over a week ago, the couple released a new collaboration together called "Nobody But You." The duet is one of five new songs on Shelton's new album, Fully Loaded: God's Country.

"This was one of those songs where the more I heard it, the more I fell in love with it," Shelton said. "I also realized how important it is for me and where I am in my life, and I think that's why [writer] Shane [McAnally] was trying to get it to me."

"It fits my story," he added. "I was about to go in and record when I decided that it needed Gwen on it- because it is our song. I think it's magic."
