Yes, most of us enjoy getting an extra day off of work, but let's not forget the historic significance of this holiday. This is a day to celebrate America's workers.
8 hour work days? Lunch breaks? Paid vacation? Social Security? -- It took years of legislation and many hard fought battles to get us where we are today.
