Riley Green Sustains Bloody Injury After Concertgoer Strikes Him With Phone

Riley Green needed stitches after a concertgoer struck him with a phone during a concert over the weekend in Melbourne, Australia.

Videos circulating on social media show the moment a fan struck Green, 37, in the ear with a phone during the show at Margaret Court Arena on Saturday (March 14). The crowd booed the fan as Green paused his performance, asked for the lights to turn on, and pointed out the concertgoer to security. The security workers removed the concertgoer from the venue before the award-winning artist continued the show. Green shared a photo of his ear on his Instagram story on Sunday (March 15), and wrote, “5 stitches later… sewed up.” Photos posted on Instagram show glimpses of the bloody injury.

Green has not otherwise publicly addressed the incident as of publication time on Monday (March 16).

Green is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2026 iHeartCountry Festival, along with Luke BryanKane BrownParker McCollumShaboozeyDylan ScottRussell DickersonGretchen WilsonChase Matthew and Lauren Alaina. iHeartRadio's Bobby Bones is returning as the event’s host.
