Camila Cabello On Fifth Harmony's VMA Dig: 'It Definitely Hurt My Feelings'

Camila Cabello is less than 24 hours from the release of her self-titled solo debut, but her Fifth Harmony past still comes to haunt her every now and then, as per her new interview with The New York Times, where she admitted that she was hurt by the band's decision to make a very public jab at her during their 2017 MTV Video Music Awards performance

Despite trying to wash her hands of any 5H drama, and that includes nixing the previously-announced name of her solo LP (The Hurting, the Healing, the Loving), Cabello admitted that she was caught off guard when she was her former singing sisters tab a jab at her prior to their medley performance of "Angel" and "Down" in August. As you probably recall, the intro to the set kicked off with five women's silhouettes, before one dramatically fell off the stage.

"It definitely hurt my feelings," the 20-year-old tearfully recalled of performance, which she watched with her mother in their living room. "I wasn't expecting it, I wasn't prepared for it — especially because at that point I'd moved on from it. I was just like, 'What? Why?' I have to make space for the good stuff to happen in my life. I don't like holding onto the past, especially when it’s stuff that, in my opinion, is just petty."

Needless to say, Cabello seems focused on the future and the release of the forthcoming set. On Wednesday, she blazed the stage on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for the late-night television debut of "Never Be the Same" and the captivating performance was one that certainly set the bar for what's ahead for the star in the coming weeks.
