Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi McCreery, have welcomed Baby No. 2.
The “Bottle Rockets” artist and his wife announced on Instagram on Tuesday night (September 23) that son Oliver Cooke McCreery was born on September 18. Gabi wrote in the caption that she “can’t imagine life without him, we love him so berry much!! 🫐”
Scotty and Gabi welcomed their firstborn child, son Merrick Avery McCreery, on October 24, 2022 (he’s named in honor of Gabi’s father, Merrick (Tre) Dugal III, and goes by Avery). Scotty and Gabi announced earlier this year that Avery had “a new best friend coming this fall!” On August 25, Scotty marked the “last (tour) bus weekend as a family of 3!”
Scotty said although it can be challenging, “it’s the best” to balance fatherhood with his career as a country artist. “It ain’t easy figuring out that balance,” he told iHeartCountry at the 59th ACM Awards in 2024. “I’m not really sure we’ve figured it all out yet, but we’re trying. He’s such a cool, easy baby, knock on wood. He hits the tour bus, he goes on planes, he’s just chillin’. It’s all he’s ever known, so I don’t think he’s had a choice, but he’s a good baby.”
The former American Idol champion said when Avery was born that he’s “never known a love like this.” He also said “next to his mother [Gabi], he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. …We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives. …Gabi was a total rock star during Avery’s birth. I could not be more proud of her. She has already taken to motherhood like a champ. Part of my joy as his Dad is watching Gabi already crush it as his Mom.”
