Dierks Bentley called in to The Bobby Bones Show this morning (August 3) to talk about his new music and co-hosting the CMA Fest TV special.
"Gold" is Bentley's newest song out and Bones said it's his favorite of Bentley's recently. Bentley shared that the song has a really good message, which he was also trying to live out in his own personal life. He wants to be sure he's always present and grateful for the things in his life. He believes this song is all about living that idea. He's been spending more of his time "living" even when he's out on the road for his tour. He tries to always do stuff during the day when he visits a new city. His favorite thing to do is play music with his band, even when he's focused on a lot of projects outside of music.
One of those outside projects was his co-hosting duties with Elle King for the CMA Fest TV Special. The show airs tonight on ABC, and Bentley told Bones it was a super lively crowd. Being that the CMA Festival hadn't happened for two years due to the pandemic, the crowd was stoked to be back for the festival. Not only did he co-host, but he also performed a collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus, which was the highlight for him.
